Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 16, 2025

Scope & Websites Covered

This Privacy Policy explains how Provia Global (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit or interact with our websites and online services, including https://proviaglobal.org, https://proviapress.com and any pages that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Sites”). By using the Sites, you agree to the practices described here.

Who We Are

Provia Global is a nonprofit organization that provides information, resources, publications, and updates about our mission and programs. We also facilitate donor engagement, volunteer participation, and outreach through content sharing and social media integration (for example, posting mission-aligned content on Pinterest and other platforms).

Information We Collect

• Information you provide directly: first and last name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and any information you choose to include in forms or correspondence; optional account credentials such as usernames and preferences if you register an account.

• Payment and donation details: we use third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Donorbox) to handle payments; we do not store full card or bank information on our systems.

• Optional demographics: age or gender when voluntarily provided (e.g., surveys or registrations). We use these only in aggregate for program improvement and outreach relevance.

• Automatically collected data: device and browser type, IP address (anonymized where available), pages viewed, referring/UTM parameters, time on page, and actions on the Sites. We collect this through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar tools (including Google Analytics, the Pinterest Tag, and anti-spam protections such as reCAPTCHA) to operate the Sites, understand usage, remember preferences, and improve content. You can control cookies via your browser settings and, where required by law, through our cookie banner. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to: (i) operate, maintain, and improve the Sites and our services; (ii) process orders, donations, and customer service requests; (iii) send transactional messages and administrative notices; (iv) communicate about programs, publications, events, and resources; (v) personalize content and measure engagement; (vi) comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms; and (vii) any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection or with your consent.

Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process personal data where necessary for our legitimate interests (e.g., site security, communications), to perform a contract or take steps at your request, to comply with legal obligations, or with your consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information with trusted service providers who perform services on our behalf under appropriate agreements, including website hosting (e.g., Hostinger), analytics (Google), email communications (MailerLite), payment processing (Stripe, PayPal, Donorbox), automation (n8n), security/anti-spam (reCAPTCHA), and video platforms (YouTube/Vimeo when embedded). These providers may process data in the United States or other countries and are required to protect it and use it only for our instructions. We may also disclose information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or in connection with organizational transfers.

Interest-Based Advertising

If we use interest-based advertising or retargeting in the future, we will do so in accordance with applicable law and provide opt-out mechanisms. You can manage ad preferences on the platforms you use and via browser tools; where required, our cookie banner will provide links to opt-out resources.

Your Choices & Rights

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us at socials@proviaglobal.org. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at socials@proviaglobal.org. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding.

California & Other U.S. State Disclosures

Provia Global is a nonprofit organization and may not be considered a “business” under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state privacy laws. Even so, we voluntarily honor reasonable requests to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of personal information (to the extent applicable). We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

We currently do not respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Where required by law, we treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt-out of targeted/interest-based advertising cookies.

International Transfers

Personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own (including the United States and locations where our vendors operate). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as data-processing agreements and Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including HTTPS/TLS for all traffic; secure hosting with firewalling and routine patching; role-based admin access with strong passwords and multi-factor authentication; encrypted credential storage for automation (n8n credential vault); PCI-DSS compliant payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Donorbox)—we do not store full card or bank details; reCAPTCHA and anti-spam filtering on forms; regular backups and audit logs; and incident-response procedures. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for our mission and operations, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Typical periods include: transaction and donation records for up to seven (7) years; email subscription data until you unsubscribe or your account becomes inactive; analytics data per provider defaults (e.g., up to 26 months) or as configured.

Children’s Privacy

Our Sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us at socials@proviaglobal.org to request removal.

Third-Party Links & External Storage

We may provide links to third-party websites and services. Those sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We also use reputable third-party vendors to host and process information on our behalf under written agreements.

Email Communications & Opt-Out

We may send announcements, offers, and updates. You may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, updating your preferences (where available), or emailing socials@proviaglobal.org with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line.

Pinterest API Privacy Statement

We use the Pinterest API solely to create, schedule, and manage organic Pins for our official Pinterest business account. Through the API, we may access board information and Pin metadata (titles, descriptions, alt text, links) and basic account information. We do not collect personal data of Pinterest users outside our team. API tokens and related data are stored securely and are accessible only to authorized personnel. We do not sell or share Pinterest API data with third parties; we may use aggregated analytics internally. For questions about our Pinterest integration, contact socials@proviaglobal.org.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. The “Effective Date” at the top indicates the latest revision. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on this page and, when appropriate, notify you by email or site notice.
